Very poor customer service, stay away...nothing ever gets resolved and it's always your fault for not reading the fine print.

This is my third encounter, I have been a customer for 8 years, can’t wait until my contract expires. Yes, I regret, indeed I do, that I gave them a second chance. The CSRs are just an arrogant bunch that are under the impression that the customer is an inconvenience that must be tolerated at best. If you cancel after THREE days of service you have to pay $750.00. You only have THREE DAYS to make up your mind. I was not informed of this, and when I asked about it, they basically said, "Too bad for you, that is standard practice for a service from any business." Protection 1 monitored the alarm system at my business for 8 years. At the end of this period they had raised my rate to over $55.00 per month. When I found out that I could get almost the same service for $10.00/month I called them. They told me that they would have a sales rep call me right back. I waited a week and no one called. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. First, they were never able to get my door lock to work properly, after I paid over 1k for the installation of my system. I signed up with ASG and almost immediately they were bought out by PRO1. Unfortunately I was unaware of this, and so I didn't open protection 1 mail. They are all scammers and want your money customer service sucks. They put into another contract without my knowledge.

I was happy going ahead with Protection One as my security provider but only about like 2 weeks after 2GIG came out with their new GC3 control panel. Protection One wasn't giving an upgrade and I was pretty adamant that I didn't want the old 2GIG panel when a new one came out so I had to switch providers. Protection One strong-arms customers when they need to make any changes to their service. Locking them into longer, new, contracts. They do not honor their word or their contracts. They like to pick and choose which contract they want to honor, as long as it suits them. I Canceled my Contract in Jan.2016. They still continue to withdraw money from my checking account even though there is no Auto Pay on account. RUN! RUN! RUN! If i actually got someone on the phone I was switched 14 times. I ask to switch the last 6 months of my contract from my rental property to my primary home. The will tell it's easy but now you get the catch, not only are they not good to their word the last conversation was when its switched you'll have to re-sigh a 3 year contract.
